North Texas Swimming Coaches Resources
USA Swimming requires coaches to complete these certification and education requirements.
Coach Safety Education Requirements [certifications]
Coaches, please review the USAS Coach Safety Curriculum Requirements prior to certifying or recerting. Courses not on the list are not acceptable. After a coach completes the three courses and has his or her certification cards, the coach registers with North Texas Registrations Chair Karen Rourke.
First Year Education Requirement
The Foundations of Coaching Test is online at the USA Swimming web site. Click on the "Coaches" tab, then on the Coaches Education Requirement link on the left. All information regarding this test is available on the USA Swimming site.
Background Checks
Since 2007, all coaches are required to successfully complete a Background Screen through the USA Swimming background screen provider. The background check may take several weeks including the renewals each 2 years.

Gloria Schuldt is the North Texas National Times Chair. Jane Maxvill is also a North Texas National Times Officer.
